Been almost 10 years since the OG dropped. Very excited to finally present to you V.2 of my Best Of Tribe series (available HERE), brought to you in part by Mixerfriendly and Strictly Cassette. Lots more info to come, but for now i’d like to share with you a quick little story…

Back around ’08 I believe, I received an email from a guy named Mike saying how much he liked my original Tribe mix. It was short and to the point — all I remember was the email was signed Mike Rap and that he was working on a documentary about Tribe and that he was a big fan. Didn’t realize ’til some time after the fact that it was indeed Michael Rapaport and he was diving deeper into the directing side of things, mainly documentaries. We stayed in touch throughout the years, and when the movie (an amazing award winning doc you can learn more about here) was set to release we started talking about doing a project together down the line. What resulted was a synonymous adoration for Tribe and their music, their legacy, and what they mean to Hip-Hop music and culture, in mixtape form. I truly hope you dig this venture as much as I did creating it. A Tribe Called Quest forever, and thank you Mike Rap for being such a strong supporter of my vision and my work. Enjoy!
